Electrical energy distribution management projects in petrochemical industries

1. Power Distribution Control System (PDCS) for Bandaram Petrochemical Industry

The purpose of this project was to monitor and control the power distribution in Bandar Imam Petrochemical Industry, which was designed and built by this company on behalf of PIDEC. In this project, two SL-300 series Siemens PLCs were used to control the process and two PCs were used for monitoring

This system was implemented with Siemens 317 series PLC with CPU as REDUNDANT

The input and output modules with HOTPLUG properties were used to be able to be replaced while in service.

The computers used for monitoring could operate as REDUNDANT, since REDUNDANT ETHERNET network has been used for this purpose

The information of 13 links related to the METERING DEVICES were transferred to the control system via MODBUS network and then sent to PC for monitoring

2. Power Distribution Control System (PDCS) of Urea, Urea Handling and Ammonia Units for Shiraz Petrochemical Industry

The aim of this project was to monitor and control the power distribution in urea, urea handling and ammonia units for Shiraz Petrochemical industry, which was designed and manufactured by Fars Scott Industrial Company on behalf of PIDEC. In this project, two Siemens S7 - 400 series PLCs were used to control the system and two PCs were used for monitoring.

The computers used in this project were designed as Redundant, i.e. normally one of the CPUs is active and responsible for controlling the process, and the other CPU is on standby

The I/Os used in this project had Hot Plug property so that they could be replaced during system service. Therefore, if one of the cards is damaged, it can be replaced without causing any problems for the whole system.

The CPUs used in this project were designed as redundant. Normally, one of the CPUs is active and controls the process, and the other CPU is on standby.

Redundant Ethernet network was used to communicate with the computer systems .

The information of the links for Metering Devices was transferred to the control system via Modbus network and then sent to PC for monitoring
